The order of locks from Sage 1-6 are as follows: liner, frame (titanium), bolt action, mid-back lock, compression, and button-release compression. Also notable about this series is that approximately 5% of Sage sales are donated to the National Alzheimer’s Foundation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eThe Sage 5 in particular has been so successful for Spyderco that it has spawned several variations with a myriad of steel options, such as but not limited to: S30V, Maxamet, SPY27, Magnacut, and Rex 121. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3 class=\"p2\"\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eButton Release Compression Lock\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eWhile it may appear that this knife features a \"button\" lock, there is actually more than meets the eye. The BRCL is a much stronger lock than the Plunge while equally easy to use. Essentially, the Button Release part means that the lock-side liner is on the opposite side (to what would be considered a \"lefty\" configuration) and a button is added to the lockbar for easier actuation. This way, you still get all the same strength and reliability you have come to love with the compression lock while enjoying the fidget factor and ease of operation of a button release.
